STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify two women sought for questioning in connection with an attempted robbery where a worker allegedly was threatened with a taser on a recent afternoon inside the Staten Island Mall.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sept. 15 at about 12:30 p.m. inside JCPenney department store, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

On that Thursday, two unidentified women allegedly placed about $1,300 worth of clothing items in a bag and one woman exited the location and entered a black, Camaro RS with Texas license plate number 1DV-2045, according to the police statement.

The second woman collected all the items and walked past all points of sale without any attempt to pay, the police statement said.

As the second woman exited the location, she was stopped by store security, according to police.

“Do you want to get tased?” the second woman allegedly said before dropping the items and fleeing from the store. The second woman then stepped into the Camaro, which drove off, according to the police statement.

No property was stolen, police said.

Photos and a video of two of unidentified women who are sought for questioning in connection with the incident were captured from cameras in the vicinity of the Staten Island Mall and released to the media by the NYPD.

Police described the first woman sought as having a dark complexion with a medium build and long dark hair styled in a bun. She was seen wearing a multi-colored dress and a black-surgical mask.

The second woman sought for questioning by police was described as having a medium complexion with a heavy build and light-colored hair. She was seen wearing blue jeans, sun glasses, sneakers and a gray T-shirt.
