(Hatfield, MA) The 12th annual Will Bike 4 Food fundraising event was held Sunday in Hatfield. Over 350 cyclists participated and raised over $213,000 for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. The event draws in cyclists of all ages across western Mass for the past 11 years and has raised over 1.3 million dollars with the help of local organizations, businesses, and youth participants.

The Food Bank has seen an increase in need as over 90,000 people from the area look to food pantries and meal service programs for help. The Food Bank’s Director of Programs, Christina Maxwell said that while they had seen a decrease in need since the height of the pandemic, recently inflation has brought an influx of people at pantries and meal sites.
