Thunder Acquires Maurice Harkless and Second-Round Pick

Oklahoma City also amends conditions on additional second-round pick

OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 27, 2022 – The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired forward Maurice Harkless, a 2029 second-round pick and will receive amendments on the conditions of a previously traded 2025 second-round pick from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Vít Krejčí, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Harkless (6-9, 220) is a 10-year NBA veteran with playing stints for Orlando, Portland, the LA Clippers, New York, Miami and Sacramento. The Queens, N.Y. native has made 621 career appearances (371 starts), averaging 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 47.4 percent from the field in 22.6 minutes per game.  

In one season with the Thunder, Krejčí appeared in 30 games (eight starts) and averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.0 minutes per game.

The amended 2025 second-round pick will now be top-40 protected.
