OHP: 70-year-old motorcyclist dies after multi-vehicle crash in Cleveland County
A 70-year-old motorcyclist died late Tuesday after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 in Cleveland County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials told KOCO 5 that a motorcyclist died in the crash on I-35 north of Indian Hills Road. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash.
"We do know from statements that traffic was slowed for some reason and one vehicle departed the roadway, struck a concrete barrier to avoid a collision," Trooper Eric Foster said. "And that caused a collision behind the vehicles trying to stop."
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the victim as 70-year-old Garth McDonald, of Blanchard.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said Wednesday afternoon that troopers believe vehicles possibly involved in the crash left the scene. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the Oklahoma Highway Patrol at 405-425-2323.
