County teams eliminated from Class A & B baseball, softball playoffs

All three baseball and two softball teams were eliminated during Class A and B district action last weekend.
In Class A baseball, Okarche saw its season come to an end at the hands of Binger-Oney.
The Bobcats beat Okarche 9-6 Friday in an elimination game at Amber-Pocasset .
Okarche’s season ended with a 14-10 record. The district started Thursday with Okarche handing Binger-Oney a 9-2 loss in the opener.
That pitted the Warriors against No. 6 Am-Po, which earned a 4-1 win and sent the Warriors to the elimination game.
Before beating Okarche, Binger eliminated Wellston 10-6 Thursday night.
Am-Po won the district with a 10-0 victory over Binger.
Lomega played its Class B baseball district at Granite.
The Raiders began Thursday with an 11-1 win over Chattanooga.
Granite, ranked eighth, handed the Raiders a 14-0 loss before eliminating Chattanooga in back-toback games.
That brought Lomega and Granite back together on Friday and the home team worked for an 11-7 win for the district title.
Lomega was 8-20 this season.
Dover was knocked out by No. 3 Calumet in its baseball district.
The host Chieftains waltzed through three district games by a combined score of 50-1.
Dover began Thursday by knocking off Erick 9-4.
Calumet then eliminated Erick by a score of 19-1 before beating Dover 10-0.
On Friday, Dover needed two upset wins to advance to this week’s regional, but Calumet had other plans with a 21-0 victory.
The Longhorns were 8-16 on the season.
The Lady Longhorns’ softball team was able to host a Class B district on Friday.
Dover began the district with a 13-4 win against Glencoe. Glencoe was then eliminated by top-seeded Mulhall-Orlando, 18-0.
M-O then knocked off Dover 10-1 and 13-1 to claim the district title.
Okarche played its Class A district at Ninnekah.
The host team edged the Lady Warriors 2-1 in the opener.
Okarche came back to knock off Pioneer 15-1. Ninnekah also beat Pioner, 13-3, eliminating the Lady Mustangs.
On Friday, Okarche again played Ninnekah close, but the hosts prevailed 7-4. That ended Okarche’s season at 11-15.
