PEARL CITY, Hawaii (KITV4) -- Jamba Hawaii plans to open its first drive-thru location at the former Genki Sushi space along Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City.
This week, the popular smoothie chain filed building permits to open a new store, which will include a drive-thru -- something its other locations do not have.
A Jamba spokesperson told KITV4 that as of right now it has no information to share other than it is just in the application stage and permits have not been approved.
Jamba’s new Pearl City location is in the Waiau area, and would be built right next to a Zippy’s restaurant in the Waiau Center, which is owned by Zippy’s.
Zippy's deferred comment to Jamba.
Jamba currently has 29 locations in Hawaii, with 23 on Oahu. Its Waiau store would be its 30th location in the state.
