Mike Lout and Steve W Stewart/KJAS - One person is dead following an accident that occurred on Highway 190 in Tyler County on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred shortly after 10:00, about midway between Dam B and Woodville.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, a 2017 Kenworth truck was pulling a trailer loaded with a log skidder westbound, while a 2006 Buick SUV was traveling eastbound. Clark said the driver of the SUV crossed the center line and hit the left side of the big rig.

The driver of the SUV was flown by medical helicopter to Conroe Regional Hospital where that person died. A passenger in the SUV was taken by ambulance to Conroe Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries. Their names have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Sergeant Clark said the truck driver, 28-year-old Jaydon Day, of Louisiana, refused medical treatment.
