Plainview Diner closes, owner pens heartfelt letter to community

After a half-century of serving patrons from across Long Island, the Plainview Diner turned off the grill for the last time on Sept. 25.

Ownership has announced the restaurant’s closure.

Known for its Greek delicacies and American classics, the iconic Plainview Diner ling ago became a neighborhood establishment enjoyed by patrons of all ages.

The Plainview Diner was beloved by many — it is remembered as a welcoming place to grab a bite with loved ones, celebrate a special occasion, or sip on a cup of coffee while surrounded by familiar employee faces.

Owner John Papavasilopoulos is retiring and he penned a final goodbye to his loyal customers.
