IN STANISLAUS COUNTY A MAN WAS KILLED DURING A HOME INVASION ROBBERY. IT HAPPENED AROUND 6:00 THIS MORNING, ON GONDRING ROAD IN CERES. FAMILY MEMBERS TOLD DEPUTIES THEY WERE WOKEN UP BY A LOUD COMMOTION. THERE WAS A CONFRONTATION. AND 22-YEAR-OLD CHRISTIAN SANCHEZ WAS SHOT AND KILLED.

A man died Tuesday morning after a home invasion involving multiple intruders with guns, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office said in a release.The break-in was reported at 6 a.m. in the 2600 block of Gondring Road in the city of Ceres, the sheriff's office said. Deputies who responded found a man identified as 22-year-old Christian Sanchez with serious injuries.The sheriff's office said deputies tried giving first aid to Sanchez before he was transported to a hospital where he later died. Residents in the house told deputies that they woke up to a loud commotion they later found out was an unknown number of intruders with guns inside.Sometime during a fight between the intruders and the residents was when Sanchez was shot, the sheriff's office said. The home invaders fled immediately afterward.It is unknown if Sanchez lived in the house or if he was an intruder.No other details were released.Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 209-567-4466.
