Walters, Norma Perkins

Norma Jean Walters, 69, of Pearisburg, VA, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Giles County on May 2, 1953, the daughter of the late Vernon & Nadine Perkins.

Norma loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a homebody who was everybody’s friend. She opened up her heart and home to everyone. She enjoyed collecting most anything and liked listening to Conway Twitty.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Eugene & Nadine Clara Woods Perkins, her brothers, Gary Perkins, Phillip Perkins and James Perkins, her sister, Hazel Stephens and her aunt & uncle, Sue & Eli Dixon.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter & son-in-law, Carolyn & Keith Keffer; her grandchildren, Bryan & Tammy Keffer, Andi Keffer and Zach & Amanda Keffer; Nine Great-grandchildren; special adopted grandchild, Ray Neely; special adopted brother, Darrell Perkins aka “Shultz”; many nieces and nephews; and her special pet companion, “Baby.”

Memorial services will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Kathy Higgs officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 7:00 P.M. She has been cremated and will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
