A nurse from Moncks Corner is facing multiple charges after she was accused of taking medication from a patient, according to information from the Attorney General's Office.
Crystal Marie Olden, 40, was booked into the Williamsburg County Detention Center Tuesday on two counts of Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult, as brought forth by the Attorney General's Office's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (SCMFCU).
Olden was initially charged with two counts of Theft of a Controlled Substance in July by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
Investigators say that around the dates of Jan. 7, 2022 and Feb. 9, 2022, Olden took Hydrocodone from a vulnerable adult being cared for at Kingstree Nursing Facility.
Theft of a Controlled Substance and Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult are both felony charges that could carry prison terms of up to five years each following conviction. The penalty for Theft of a Controlled Substance could also be a fine of up to $5,000.
The Attorney General's Office will prosecute the case.
