Man killed in two-vehicle crash in Valley Center
The crash occurred on west Valley Center Road near Vesper Road
A 67-year-old man died Tuesday after crashing his SUV into a pickup in Valley Center, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The man was headed west on Valley Center Road east of Vesper Road just before noon when his Hyundai Tucson sideswiped a Chevrolet truck, said CHP Officer Hunter Gerber.
The man, who was from Oceanside, was taken to a hospital but did not survive, Gerber said.
No other injuries were reported.
Officials are still investigating the reason for the crash.
The westbound lane of Valley Center Road was closed until about 1:30 p.m. No further information was immediately available.
