Suspect accused of shooting dad while with kids to be released from jail

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The 21-year-old Yuma man accused of shooting and killing a man in Winterhaven will be released from the Imperial County Jail today according to the District Attorney's office.

The District Attorney's office says it was unable to file charges and that more information is required.

In California, charges must be filed within 48 hours of the arrest, if not the suspect has to be released.

The suspect was originally accused of killing 41-year-old Jesus Galindo while he was with his kids in Winterhaven on Saturday.

Galindo's son was also shot, there are no other known potential suspects at this time.
