Terrell Owens may be a polarizing figure, but he tends to speak the truth. The Hall of Fame wide receiver played for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2004 and 2005 seasons, and he had plenty to say about his former team.

Owens had high praise for quarterback Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Eagles offense when he joined the Audacy Original Podcast “The Crew” this week.

“When you look at the Philadelphia Eagles … Jalen Hurts, he has the weapons. You talk about a balanced running attack, a game plan. You have two basically WR1s on the outside. You have Miles Sanders at running back,” Owens said (21:55 in player above). “And like I said, you got Jalen Hurts. This guy right here, he’s a triple threat back there at the quarterback position.”

Hurts has been putting up video game numbers through the first three games of the season. He’s thrown for 916 yards and picked up 167 on the ground as well. Those 1,083 total yards are the most ever by an Eagles quarterback in the first three games of the season.

Not only is Hurts setting Eagles records, but NFL records as well. He’s the first quarterback in NFL history with at least 900 passing yards and 150 rushing yards through three games in a season.

The third-year quarterback has grown into this offense, and that hasn’t surprised Owens.

“When you think about the growth and the maturation process of where he was last year to where he is now, I understand where he came from. He came from Alabama. He played at Alabama. So this is no surprise to me that he’s at this level so early in the season,” Owens said.
“I know playing in Philly, Philly is riding hot. The Eagles are gonna be flying high every week from here on out.”

The Eagles certainly are flying high right now as the lone undefeated team in the NFC. They’ll look to keep that intact as they host Doug Pederson and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.
