The emergency room in Methodist Southlake Medical Center is now expanded by 5,000 square feet, according to a press release.

The extension quadruples the size of the emergency room and will provide a larger patient waiting area and enhanced diagnostic capabilities. The extension will also provide nuclear medicine and a resuscitation bay. Methodist Southlake Medical Center is located at 421 E. SH 114, Southlake.

Expansion of services are part of Methodist Southlake’s goal to become a full-service, acute-care hospital, the release stated.

“This emergency department expansion is one of several key investments the health system is making in Methodist Southlake this year,” Chief Executive Officer James C. Scoggin Jr. said in the release. “Methodist is committed to being the trusted choice for health and wellness for families in Southlake and the surrounding communities.”

Methodist Southlake’s emergency room offers services in abdominal pain, chest pain, orthopedics, OB/GYN, infection, sutures and stabilization.

The emergency department will now enter the second phase of construction plans and renovate the existing emergency room by January, the release stated. 817-865-4400. www.methodisthealthsystem.org/methodist-southlake-medical-center
