The Tulsa Police Department responded to a shots fired call around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When they arrived, they found a man deceased with gunshot wounds.
Police say a burglary suspect entered into a residence near East 14th Street and South Florence Place.
An elderly homeowner heard the man and shot him inside the home, according to police.
The alleged burglar then escaped through a back window and collapsed dead in the front yard, where officers found him.
Tulsa fire, police, and EMSA were all on the scene responding to the incident.
The homeowner says he heard multiple voices and police said there could be more suspects.
But police say they searched the area around the house and found no signs of additional burglary suspects.
TPD says that anyone who may have additional information on the situation or on possible other suspects is asked to call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
