STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police were seen responding to a multiple-car crash in Grasmere Tuesday that sent one person to the hospital and left two vehicles badly damaged.
The collision, which was reported around 11:50 a.m., prompted an emergency response at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Narrows Road South.
A white Lexus had extensive body damage to the left side of the car. A black vehicle also sustained extensive front-end damage.
A person was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze with undisclosed injuries, according to an official from the FDNY press office.
Airbags were deployed and the doors of the Lexus were no longer attached to the vehicle. A door of the Lexus could be seen thrown into a bush across the street.
The black vehicle’s engine block was left exposed because of the damage to the grill and hood of the car.
