Alta, Ia (KICD) – A few of KICD’s regional schools competed at the Alta-Aurelia XC Meet.
In the Girls Race, Madison Brouwer of Sibley-Ocheyedan took 1st with another impressive time of 18:40.68. Her teammate Madison Marco was 4th with a time of 19:47.79.
Sibley-Ocheyedan would tie with Cherokee for 1st place at 49 points. The tiebreaker went to runner #6, and Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Olivia Hench came in at 25th, 4 places ahead of Cherokee’s Lydia Hart, giving Sibley-Ocheyedan the team title. Sioux Central was 5th, and South O’Brien was 8th.
In the Boys Race, MMCRU’s Kaden Galles was 1st with a time of 17:14.65. Sibley-Ocheyedan went 2nd and 3rd with Alejandro Bernal ticking 17:27, and Ben Byers running 17:39.67. Sioux Central went 5th and 6th with Brayden Kramber running 18:16.93, Leighton Sippel clocked 18:19.5.
Sioux Central won the team title with 67 points ahead of 2nd place Sibley-Ocheyedan with 73. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was 8th with 187.
