The United State Attorney's Office of Minnesota said 29-year-old Ezell Tribett of Brooklyn Center, pleaded guilty on September 21st to one count of possessing a firearm as a felon.

Court documents said Tribett was riding in a vehicle that struck a parked car in January of 2021. Tribett admitted that, prior to the crash, he was in possession of a pistol that he gave to the driver of the car.

After the crash, the driver exited his vehicle, walked behind a nearby parked car, and dropped the firearm in the snow. Minneapolis Police Officers stopped to investigate the crash and recovered the firearm from the snow.

Because of Tribett’s prior felony conviction in Hennepin County, he is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.

A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
