While fighting the fire, officials say the power line in the house disconnected and created an electrical hazard for firefighters.
The homeowner told fire officials that they were woken up by a neighbor banging on the door telling them the home was on fire.
None of the family members were hurt, but one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated and released at the home.
Fire officials found that the fire started by accident, but they have not determined what caused it.
The home and at least one of the family’s cars were destroyed.

The house had smoke alarms, but they did not go off. Gwinnett fire officials say this fire serves as a good reminder to check smoke alarms in your home every month.
