PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Public Library is inviting residents to come celebrate “Good Neighbor Day” at Columbia Park.
The Library’s Jenni Davis says Wednesday evening’s block party winds down their summer “Peoria Reads” program.
There will be music, food and fun, made possible by Neighborhood Mini Grants from the City of Peoria.
“Bring a blanket, bring lawn chairs, just hang out and listen to the music. Or, bring your kids and wear them out on the Fun On The Run bouncy houses, crafts, outdoor games like cornhole,” Davis says.
Davis tells WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, the celebration is also giving families an opportunity to preserve their family history at the McClure Library Branch next door.
“You can use our public computers, we’ll have prompts, we’ll teach you how to walk through it. You can record your family history, and then that will be archived in the Library of Congress,” Davis says.
Davis says the preservation activity uses technology from Story Core Connect.
“Good Neighbor Day” at Columbia Park, in the 300 block of McClure Avenue, runs Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
