Dramatic moments unfolded in a courtroom as a Kalamazoo County woman testified against her own brother on trial for murder.

Tonesha Taylor-McMillon testified her younger brother Tikario Taylor-McMillon, 20, shot and killed a couple inside their Kalamazoo Township apartment during a 2020 home invasion.

McMillon is charged with the murders of Katoya McPherson, 33, and Floyd Brashers Jr., 36, who were both found dead from multiple gun shot wounds in their apartment Dec. 28, 2020.

"Do you recall as you sit here now whether Tikario says he shot Brashers and McPherson?" Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Steven McLaughlin asked.

"Yes," Tonesha said during her testimony in Kalamazoo County District Court Tuesday.

Prosecutors began presenting evidence in the retrial for the youngest of three siblings charged in a Kalamazoo Township couple's murder.

They presented jurors crime scene photos of shattered glass and shell casings from the couple's apartment.

Prosecutors argued evidence would show Tikario and his brother D-Angelo Davis worked together to plan and kill the couple.

Tikario is the youngest of three siblings originally charged in connection to the Dec. 2020 home invasion and fatal shooting of a Kalamazoo Township couple.

Davis and Tonesha were offered plea deals in exchange for their testimony. Their sister took the deal.

Tikario's first trial ended in a mistrial in March when Davis backed out of a deal to testify against his brother.

A jury found Davis guilty on two counts of first-degree murder in June. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Davis paid the couple to live at their apartment, according to the investigation.

Tonesha, cut a deal with the court, saying "Tikario shot them both" and confessed to pulling the trigger when she testified during the first trial.

She was sentenced to 19 months for accessory after the fact and testified against both of her brothers as part of a plea deal.

The double homicide stemmed from a dispute over a Ford Taurus that Davis let Brashers and McPherson borrow. investigators said.

Davis's defense attorneys argued they basically stole it during his trial.

The teenager is the youngest of three siblings charged in connection to the deadly home invasion.
