A FORMER OMAHA POLICE OFFICER WILL BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAIN. OPD HAD FILED A REPORT THAT LOCKED KATHY BELCASTRO GONZALEZ’S LICENSE. IN A LETTER TO BELCASTRO GONZALEZ, THE DIRECTOR OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER SAYS, "NO FURTHER REVOCATION ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST YOUR LAW ENFORCEMENT CERTIFICATE." A former Omaha police officer will be allowed to work in law enforcement again. The Omaha Police Department had initially filed a report that locked Kathy Belcastro-Gonzalez's license. In a letter to Belcastro-Gonzalez, the director of the law enforcement training center said, "no further revocation action will be taken against your law enforcement certificate."Belcastro-Gonzalez's lawyer provided KETV with the letter. The center also said she will have to release all personnel records to any future employers. A jury recently awarded Belcastro-Gonzalez $680,000 in lost wages and $20,000 in other damages in a discrimination lawsuit.
