Hurricane Ian is right around the corner and shelters in the Lowcountry need help more than ever this week.
The Charleston Animal Society, Dorchester Paws, and other shelters need emergency fosters.
"We want to help our shelters throughout the southeast whenever there is a storm, a pending storm. In order to do that we go to empty our shelters. So help us to empty the shelters this week by coming in and adopting," said Kay Hyman, Director of Community Engagement, Charleston Animal Society.
Dorchester Paws, a shelter in Summerville, hurricane policy requires all animals to be cleared from the campus. Animals that don't get emergency fostered will move to the satellite location.
