Suspect who fled on foot after vehicle chase in Columbia County captured

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) — Investigators have captured a man who fled on foot after a vehicle chase on Tuesday morning.

According to Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew Michael Sorley was wanted on outstanding drug charges and led deputies on a high speed pursuit after fleeing from a traffic stop.

Witnesses tell WJBF that the suspect drove through a fence and crashed his vehicle in a yard in the Kensington subdivision, then fled on foot last seen running in the area of Crawford Court.

Investigators searched the area of Lisa Court and Red Leaf Way on Tuesday afternoon before finally capturing Sorley. Details regarding Sorley’s capture were not immediately provided.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A search has begun for a suspect in Columbia County, following a high speed chase.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are currently in the area of Lisa Court and Red Leaf Way attempting to locate Andrew Michael Sorley.

Columba County Sheriff’s Office tells NewsChannel 6 that Sorley is wanted on outstanding drug charges. He reportedly led deputies on a high speed pursuit after fleeing from a traffic stop.

Witnesses say that Sorley crashed his vehicle into several fences in the Kensington subdivision in Martinez and was last seen running on foot near Crawford Court.
