Car-to-Car Shooting in South Los Angeles Leaves One Dead

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A woman was fatally shot in the Chesterfield Square neighborhood of South Los Angeles in an apparent car-to-car shooting, police said Tuesday.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called at approximately 11:50 p.m. Monday where they learned the shooting occurred near Slauson and Western avenues, LAPD Lt. Letica Ruiz told City News Service.

Witnesses told police a sedan chased a dark-colored Lexus SUV in which the victim was riding in the back seat and fired several shots at the SUV before speeding away.

The driver of the SUV then drove  to a fire station at St. Andrew Place and Slauson and crashed into a fire hydrant.

The wounded woman, who according to broadcast reports was in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two uninjured occupants were found in the SUV, according to ABC 7.

There was no suspect description.
