NFL referees certainly don’t have easy jobs. There’s a lot to watch on any given play and sometimes things simply go unnoticed as a result. That was the case during Monday night’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants when the referees missed an absolutely blatant pass interference penalty on the Giants.

During the play in question, Cowboys receiver Noah Brown was in man-to-man coverage with Giants cornerback Darnay Holmes near the end zone. Brown appears to have Holmes beat to the outside corner, but just before Brown crosses the plane into the end zone, Holmes grabs him by the waist and pulls him down to the ground to save a touchdown while the ball flies harmlessly over their heads.

The NFL referees simply missed it.

Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush can even be seen throwing his hands up in the air looking for the penalty flag after the play.

It was an absolutely egregious penalty that the referees missed completely, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.

Ultimately, the horribly blown call didn’t impact the Cowboys all that much as the team still won the game 23-16. But it’s still a blatant example of officials missing an easy call that everyone else sees from their couch.
