KOCO 5 NEWS AND AMBER INTEGRATED FOUND THIS IS THE ONLY STATEWIDE RACE WHERE THE DEMOCRAT IS IN THE LEAD. DEMOCRAT JENA NELSON HAS A FIVE POINT LEAD OVER REPUBLICAN RYAN WALTERS, THE CURRENT SECRETARY OF EDUCATION. NELSON 49%, WALTERS 44%. LET’S BREAK THIS DOWN BY PARTY. FOR REPUBLICANS, 71% SUPPORT WALTERS, 22% SUPPORT NELSON. ACROSS THE AISLE, ONLY 8% SUPPORT WALTERS, WHILE 89% BACK NELSON. A MAJORITY OF INDEPENDENTS SUPPORT NELSON, SPECIFICALLY 57%.
