RICHMOND, Ind. — Reid Health is resuming COVID-19 booster vaccinations after receiving new bivalent vaccines.

The new boosters that have been formulated to fight the newest Omicron variant strains as well as the original COVID strain are available at the Reid Health Residency Clinic, 795 Sim Hodgin Parkway, according to a news release. Walk-ins are welcome 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

Appointments may be made by calling Reid's COVID-19 hotline at 765-965-4200.

Reid had paused administering booster vaccinations until receiving the new Pfizer and Moderna bivalent vaccines. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone ages 12 and older receive a bivalent booster dose if it's been two months since their most recent vaccine dose.

Health officials also recommend receiving a flu shot during the same visit.

The bivalent booster and flu shots are also available at the Wayne County Health Department, 100 S. Fifth St. Booster shot appointments may be made at ourshot.in.gov.

The health department also accepts walk-ins from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Vaccines are available 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of each month.
