A man was shot dead and left not far from the intersection. The man was shot right in front of a repair shop in broad daylight.
Police said it did not look random. Police said the call came in around 6:20 p.m. and when they arrived, they found a man dead who had wounds consistent with a gunshot.
“We do have one suspect in custody, we’re not looking for anybody as of right now. And investigators are doing a scene investigation as we speak,” said Sgt. Jeff Dutton, Oklahoma City Police Department
Police are still trying to figure out if it was a drive-by shooting or if the suspect was on foot and what actually led up to the shooting.
“I’m not 100 percent sure where he turned up or if he was at the scene when officers got here,” Dutton said.
KOCO 5 was told it possibly started as a fight, but police could not confirm it. Crime scene units were at the scene as the investigation continued.
“All four directions from 43rd and High are blocked off, due to the investigation going on,” Dutton said.
KOCO 5 has not been told the victim’s name or any suspect information. The stretch of High Street will be closed for several more hours.
