DETROIT, Mich. - An undercover Michigan State Police Trooper has been shot during an undercover narcotics investigation Tuesday.
Around 1:30 a.m. on September 28, Detective Sergeant Devin Kachar, a 10-year veteran of MSP, was shot during an undercover investigation.
MSP said the shooting happened in the 14,000 block of Riverview near I-96 and Telegraph on Detroit's west side.
Police said an undercover narcotics unit was conducting surveillance when the suspects opened fire on them.
Two suspects are in custody at this time. The apartment has been searched and casings were located.
Andrae Scott Jr. was arraigned Wednesday, September 29, on the following counts:
- Assault with intent to murder
- Controlled substance delivery/manufacturer
- 2 counts of felony firearm
Scott received $1 million bond.
Another suspect, Robin Hall, 23-year-old from Detroit, was arraigned on one count of accessory and one count for allegedly lying to a police officers. She received a $250,000 cash bond.
The trooper involved in the shooting is in stable condition.
