ATTENTION -- The Coburg Cow has officially come down from its perch for safekeeping as the Lowcountry braces for tropical storm conditions.
The famous cow came down mid-day Tuesday.

A sign of the times. The Coburg Cow is still up and Charleston is going to be fine.
Historically, the beloved cow has been taken off its platform for safekeeping when major storms are expected to hit the Lowcountry, as was such before Hurricane Dorian and Hurricane Florence.
As of Tuesday morning, the cow was still standing.
Coburg was the largest local dairy for decades and the Coburg Cow has been a remnant of the dairy operation since the 1950s. Now, it's a West Ashley landmark.
The Coburg Cow can be seen at 901 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, at the intersection of Coburg Road and Savannah Highway.
