The Xiaomi Mijia Washing and Drying Machine 10 kg is now available to pre-order in China. The machine uses steam sterilization, achieving a 99.99% sterilization rate. Smart features of the device include automatic detergent delivery, based on the load sensed by the machine, and intelligent drying, which ends the cycle when it determines the clothes are no longer wet.
There are many cycles on the Xiaomi Mijia Washing and Drying Machine, including a 15-minute quick wash and signature wool wash settings. As its name suggests, the Mijia device can handle loads up to 10 kg (~22 lbs). The product has a color smart touch screen which you can use to control the machine. Alternatively, you can configure the device and view updates in the Mijia app. With the Mijia smart home system, you can connect multiple products; for example, you could set a smart drying rack to lower from the ceiling automatically when the washing cycle ends. The washing machine measures 598 x 850 x 680 mm (~23.5 x 33.5 x 26.8-in).
The device uses a direct drive motor for a more efficient and quieter wash, producing no more than 50 dBA of noise. You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Washing and Drying Machine 10 kg in China for 2,399 yuan (~US$335) with a 50 yuan deposit (~US$7). After this pre-sale period ends on September 30, the device is expected to retail for 2,999 yuan (~US$419).
