The incident happened around 2 p.m. when cops were attempting to arrest the suspect at a Rite Aid on Union Turnpike and Parsons Boulevard in Kew Gardens for allegedly shoplifting over $1,000 in merchandise, police said.
While trying to flee from police, the man approached a driver on Parsons Boulevard and tried to carjack them, according to officials.
The driver put up a fight and a struggle ensued which led to the sedan being rammed into the KFC on Union Turnpike, cops said.
