Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen announced a series of public meetings to provide details about both the voter ID and the minimum wage initiatives appearing on the November, 2022 ballot.
As required by law, the Secretary of State must schedule public hearings in each of Nebraska's three Congressional districts to explain measures placed on the ballot through the petition process.
Initiative 432 is the constitutional amendment requiring photo identification in order to vote.
Initiative 433 would raise the state's minimum wage to $15/hour by 2026.
In Omaha, the public hearing will take place on Tuesday, October 11th at the Thompson Alumni Center at 67th and Dodge on the University of Nebraska Omaha campus
1:30pm: Initiative 432 (Voter ID)
6:00pm: Initiative 433 (Minimum wage)
In Lincoln, public hearings will be held on Tuesday, October 18th in hearing room 1525 at the Nebraska State Capitol. The session on the minimum wage will be at 1:30 p.m., and the voter ID hearing will be at 6pm.
The hearing for Nebraska's third Congressional district will be October 6th in North Platte at Mid-Plains Community College at the McDonald Belton Theater. Sessions will be at 1:00 p.m. for the minimum wage, and 4:00 p.m. for the voter ID initiative.
