Hurricane Ian postponements: Here's what Big Bend football games have been impacted

As Hurricane Ian makes its way into the Gulf of Mexico, Week 6 high school football games this week could be impacted by the storm.

While the approaching hurricane's ultimate destination remains an uncertainty, a handful of programs around the state have altered their schedules. 

Eleven local and area games are scheduled to be played this week.

Rescheduled 

Lincoln at Colquitt County: Lincoln High announced Monday morning that its game at Colquitt County Friday night has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Sept. 28, still at Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie, Georgia. 

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at the stadium and are cash only. 

Aucilla Christian at Franklin County: Aucilla Christian announced that its game against Franklin County has been moved from Friday at Aucilla Christian to Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Franklin County High School.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. 

Maclay at North Florida Christian: The Eagles rivalry game against Maclay has been moved from Friday to Wednesday, Sept. 28. The game is still at North Florida Christian. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. 

St. John Paul II at Akelynn's Angels Christian Academy (Winter Haven): According to JPII head coach Ed Hill, the game has been canceled and JPII is working on rescheduling the matchup. 

ED White at Madison County: Head coach Price Harris accounted that Madison County's game against ED White has been canceled and will not be rescheduled at this time. 

FAMU DRS at Jefferson County: FAMU DRS announced that it will be closed for the rest of the week, suspending all co-curricular activities. Jefferson County is expected to make a final decision on closure on Wednesday. 

Taylor County at Suwannee 7 p.m.: Suwannee High School announced that its game against Taylor County has been rescheduled to Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The game will still be played at Suwannee. 

Still scheduled for Friday 

Munroe at Rocky Bayou Christian (Niceville) 7 p.m. CST: Munroe confirmed Wednesday that its game at Rocky Bayou Christian will still be played Friday. 

Godby at Marianna 7 p.m.: Godby head coach Demario Jones announced Thursday that the Cougars game at Marianna was still on for 7 p.m. 

Mosley at Chiles 7 p.m.: Mosley announced via Twitter on Thur that its game against Chiles, in Tallahassee, was still on for Friday night. 

Rickards at Wakulla 7 p.m.: The Wakulla County School Board announced that school would be closed Thursday, Sept. 29, but that it game against Rickards on Friday would still be played.
