Scott Burnstein’s Oakland County football rankings after Week 5:

Walled Lake Western (5-0) — Yes, these guys are that good, no more warning shots.

Rochester Adams (4-1) — Just coldblooded in every way possible.

West Bloomfield (4-1) — Must refocus and tighten things up on both sides of the rock.

Clarkston (3-2) — This Wolves ‘D’ is primed, pesky and poised for a turn-around, see Week 5 effort vs. Oxford.

Novi Detroit Catholic Central (4-1) — Iron sharpens iron, see three-sport senior stud Brady Blakita.

Southfield A&T (4-1) — Defense rounding into shape, this club could be lethal down the stretch.

South Lyon (4-1) — Dialed in, doling out woodshed-style whoopings.

Birmingham Brother Rice (2-3) — Considerably better than their record indicates, ready for whatever the future has in store.

Birmingham Seaholm (5-0) — Very well might run the table on the regular season

Lake Orion (3-2) — Judah Kinne has a Thor-like, superhero-quality to his play in the trenches.
