Injured hiker reported at Cascade Trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway

BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) —
The Bedford Fire and County Fire Rescue Department was dispatched to the Cascade Trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the report of an injured hiker.

Units arrived on the scene and accessed the individual who had an obvious lower extremity injury the department said.

The individual was loaded onto a gurney and brought off the trail to the waiting medic unit.
The individual was taken to the hospital according to the department.

All units were clear from the scene at 1:15 p.m. the department said.
