Two weekend shootings in Houma, Thibodaux leave man, woman injured

Two people were injured during separate weekend shootings in Houma and Thibodaux over the weekend.

A man was injured during a Sunday shooting in Thibodaux, while a woman was injured during a Saturday shooting in Houma.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating multiple shots fired around 7:30 p.m. at the 200 block of Carol Street in Marydale in which the man was injured.

He was taken to a local hospital, but is condition is unknown.

Houma Police responded to gunshots in a parking lot of the 7400 block of West Main Street around 6:22 p.m. Saturday. No one was on scene when officers arrived, but they learned the victim, a 31-year-old woman, had already gone to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to her ankle.

According to Houma Police, the woman said she was seated in her vehicle when gunshots were fired in her direction and she didn't know why.

Shooting

Both incidents are under investigation.
