The Pana Police Department says a man was attacked by someone with a baseball bat in Pana on Friday.
We're told that at 12:51 p.m. the Pana Police Department received a call of a fight in progress at a parking lot near 4th and Oak Street.
Officials said when the police arrived they found an adult male with injuries to the arm and head after getting hit by a baseball bat.
We're told the man who hit the victim arrived in a car where he was the passenger and the driver was seen holding a firearm and shooting it off before leaving the scene with the other suspect.
The Pana Police Department was able to identify the 27-year-old man accused of hitting the victim with the bat and the 33-year-old driver who reportedly fired the gun.
Officials say they are seeking charges of mob action and aggravated battery against the 27-year-old man. Charges of mob action and unlawful discharge of a firearm are being sought against the 33-year-old woman who allegedly shot the gun.
The man who was hit received medical treatment and was later released. No other injuries were reported from the incident. The case remains under investigation.
