Major celebrations, festivals, and events scheduled across the High Desert this weekend

The great celebration convergence of 2022 is coming Saturday when multiple High Desert towns and cities host major festivals, parties, and community events.

On October 1, the City of Victorville will host its 19th Annual Fall Festival during the Happy Trails Parade, Street Fair, and Car Show roll up to the Apple Valley Village.

Folks will also flock to Phelan Phamily Phun Days as the City of Barstow holds its 75th Anniversary Celebration up Interstate 15.

And finally, the Town of Apple Valley will host its 15th Annual Paws n' Claws Pet Fair, while Stu Miller’s Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch will be open in Hesperia.

The City of Victorville’s 19th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday will include food, live entertainment, children’s rides, vendors, Ballet Folklorico  and more.

Victorville Fall Festival

The City of Victorville’s 19th Annual Fall Festival is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 at City Hall, at 14343 Civic Drive.

City officials expect more than 15,000 visitors to attend this year’s free fall festival, which will feature live entertainment, children’s rides, hands-on activities, a petting zoo, pony rides, a mobile skate park, a food court, beer garden, vehicle displays, and craft and information vendors.

They’ll be dancing, a doughnut eating contest, a limbo competition, a guitar demo class, and Superhero training with Captain America, Spiderman, Black Widow, and Wonder Woman.

The Fall Festival’s Main Stage lineup includes Ballet Folklorico Flores; and Woodie and the Longboards, a Beach Boys and Eagles Inspired Band. Also, Tabu, a Cumbia and Reggaeton band, and Pop Vinyl play Motown and Hip-Hop tunes.

Free parking will be next to City Hall in the San Bernardino County Courthouse parking lot, accessed from Seneca Drive and Roy Rogers Drive.

The City of Barstow will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a community party from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the Historic Harvey House at 681 North First Avenue.

The City of Barstow is preparing to celebrate its 75th anniversary with a community party from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the Historic Harvey House at 681 North First Avenue. The celebration will include food and craft vendors, a car show, bounce houses, trains, a pumpkin patch, and a beer/margarita garden. Live performances include Latin Express (Top 40/Latin) and The Killer Dueling Pianos. The day will close out with a drone light show. Parking and admission are free. Apple Valley Street Fair

The Happy Trails Parade, Street Fair, and Car Show in the Apple Valley Village are scheduled for Oct. 1. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Tonikan Road and Outer Highway 18, then travels west to Pawnee Road, left onto Pawnee, and ends at Powhatan Road.

Following the parade, James Woody Park on Navajo and Powhattan roads will feature the car show and street fair, including vendor booths, live music, food, and plenty of activities for all ages. For more information, visit Facebook.com/AppleValleyVillage.

Apple Valley Paws n' Claws Pet Fair

The Town of Apple Valley will host the 15th Annual Paws n' Claws Pet Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Civic Center Park, 14999 Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley.

The pet-friendly event will include vendors, pet adoptions, microchipping, a vaccine clinic, an art contest, live music, the best pet costume contest, dog licensing for San Bernardino County and Apple Valley owners only, and more.

Phelan Phamily Phun Days 

Phelan Chamber of Commerce, Hosted by the Phelan Phamily Phun Days, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on October 1. It will include the Champagne Classic Car Show, a parade, exhibitors, a kids' fun zone, and food vendors. Stu Miller’s Pumpkin Patch is back on the corner of Mariposa Road and Avenal Street near Interstate 15 in Hesperia. The pumpkin patch  will open Friday through Oct. 31.

Stu Miller’s Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch is back on the corner of Mariposa Road and Avenal Street near Interstate 15 in Hesperia.

This year’s little slice of autumn will open Friday through Oct. 31 and will include hundreds of pumpkins for sale, a petting zoo, carnival rides, food vendors, bounce houses, game booths, and more. 

The pumpkin patch is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays. They close at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. 

Tickets will be on sale at the pumpkin patch for rides, attractions, and games. Entrance is free. Pets are not allowed at the pumpkin patch.

Ventura Circus - Helendale

The Ventura Circus will set up its big top from Thursday to Oct. 3 at the Helendale Community Services District, 26540 Vista Road in Helendale. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and 2, 4, and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For tickets and more information, visit venturacircustickets.com.
