TAMPA, Fla. – In preparation for the severe weather predicted to impact the Tampa Bay area, ZooTampa will be closed from Tuesday, September 27 thru Thursday, September 29, 2022.

ZooTampa has a comprehensive severe weather preparedness plan in place to ensure the safety of our animals and team members which includes moving larger animals into their night houses, which are built to withstand major storms, and smaller mammals and birds into ancillary buildings.

If the situation warrants it, we will also institute a storm-ride-out team made up of animal care professionals, veterinary staff, maintenance, and a safety team made up of EMTs and security personnel.
