Thames River football on cruise control in win over Plainfield: Top plays from the weekend
The Thames River football team cruised to a big win over Plainfield, while the NFA boys soccer, girls soccer, and girls volleyball teams all came away with wins. Here are the weekend's top performers.

Thomas Dreibholz, Killingly: Senior quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 157 yards and tossed four touchdowns, including the game-winner to Noah Colangelo with just over two minutes to play, in a 28-22 win over Bloomfield.
Noah Colangelo, Killingly: Senior receiver/cornerback caught three passes for 50 yards with two touchdowns, including the game-winning score on a 41-yard pass play with 2:19 remaining, as Killingly rallied past Bloomfield.
Keith Perry, Killingly: Senior fullback/linebacker led the defense with seven tackles and two assisted tackles. He also rushed for 32 yards on five carries, caught a 6-yard TD pass, and ran in an important 2-point conversion in Killingly’s 28-22 win over Bloomfield.

Seth Cunningham, Thames River: Senior rushed for 154 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown in the Crusaders win over Plainfield.
David Clang, Thames River: Senior led the Crusaders defense with two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two sacks and seven tackles, including three for a loss.
Patrick Daley, Thames River: Senior anchored an offensive line that included Jayden Fasion, Aaron Trotochaud, Bryce Johnson, and David Clang that helped the Crusaders gain 503 total yards against Plainfield.

Alex Tabilas, NFA: Junior scored the game-winning goal on a free kick in the second half to lift the Wildcats (2-3-1) to a 1-0 non-league win over Old Saybrook.
Ava Boenig, NFA: Sophomore goalkeeper preserved the shutout with four saves as ther Wildcats edged Old Saybrook, 1-0.
Rachel Popiel, Plainfield: Sophomore notched a hat trick in leading the Panthers to a 6-0 win over New London.
Sophia Rodriguez, Plainfield: Senior had a goal and an assist as Plainfield improved to 4-1-1 with a win against New London.
Girls volleyball
Evelina Klyukin, NFA: Sophomore collected seven kills, three aces, and four blocks as the Wildcats (2-2) outlasted Woodstock Academy, 3-2.
Ella Bean, NFA: Senior dished out 16 assists in the Wildcats’ thrilling 25-22,19-25, 25-21, 19-25, and 16-14 victory against Woodstock.
