The Lions lost more than their first divison game Sunday against the Vikings.

They lost their starting safety and co-captain Tracy Walker for the season to a torn Achilles. And they potentially lost starting running back D'Andre Swift to a shoulder injury.

Swift suffered a sprained shoulder, according to the NFL Network, and 'could miss some time' in the coming weeks. While it's not expected to require surgery, this is the same injury that cost Swift three games in the middle of last season.

Swift has been a star for the Lions so far, averaging over 8.5 yards per carry through three games despite being limited by a sprained ankle in Weeks 2 and 3. He only got 12 carries in the last two games combined, and now he's got a bad shoulder, too.

If Swift indeed misses time, Jamaal Williams and Craig Reynolds will be in line for bigger roles in Detroit's backfield. Neither one has close to Swift's game-breaking ability, having combined for 3.8 yards per carry this season, though Williams does have an NFL-high four rushing touchdowns.

A second-round pick in 2020, Swift has been dogged by injures in his young career. He missed three games in each of his first two seasons and now he's in danger of missing more in year three.
