This may make Pennsylvanians want to scream.

The Keystone State has the second highest average ice cream price in the U.S.

Ellie Sparkles—official website of the YouTube children’s entertainment show, “The Ellie Sparkles Show”—wanted to figure out which states are the best for family vacations.

In order to do this, researchers scored each of the 50 on a “family adventure index” that included metrics such as child-friendly tourist attractions; family-friendly hotels; food costs; and residential safety in order to get to the results of the final study.

The good news is that that final study ranked Pennsylvania as the sixth best overall state with regards to family travel destinations.

However, in looking at specific items that make a family vacation—such as getting ice cream—there’s a bit of bad news: Turns out Pennsylvania has the second highest average ice cream prices at $5.60. The only state that beat the Keystone out was Florida with a total average ice cream price of $5.95.

“Overall, our research shows the average cost of a single scoop of ice cream across all states in the United States is $3.87,” reads the study. “The cheapest city to buy ice cream is Saint Louis., where kids can exchange just $2.36 of their pocket money to beat the Missouri summer heat.

“Over in Oklahoma City a scoop is $2.42, and in Des Moines, the third cheapest place for ice cream, a scoop costs $2.46 on average.”

But hey, if it’s ice cream—treat yourself.
