KENT COUNTY, MI – Sheriff’s deputies identified Misty Rackow, 29, of Allendale Township, as the victim of a three-vehicle crash.

Another driver was seriously injured.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, on 76th Street SW near Indigo Ridge Avenue.

Police said that a GMC pickup truck was slowing for a vehicle making a turn when the driver of a Jeep tried to pass the pickup on the shoulder. The Jeep swerved back onto the road and hit the pickup, which then crossed the center line and hit the victim’s Kia Forte, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old Wyoming man, suffered serious injuries, police said.

The 36-year-old Byron Center man driving the Jeep was not hurt. The sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate and will provide reports to Kent County prosecutors for review.
