Marrero murder: 4th person shot dead just this weekend

JPSO is investigating another murder on the Westbank.

Sheriff Joe Lopinto says there was another homicide in Marrero Sunday night.  A man was killed, the fourth person shot dead there in about 48 hours.

"Just before 11:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Ames Boulevard," Detective Brandon Veal said in an emaile. "Upon their arrival, they located an unresponsive adult male on the ground in the parking lot of a business. He was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced dead on the scene."

Three other victims were shot dead in Marrero over the weekend.

Around 5:40 pm on Saturday, deputies were dispatched to find  two adult victims, one male and one female, both suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a vehicle outside of a residence. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene in the 2600 block of Bay Adams Drive.

Friday night around 10:40 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside of a residence in the 1300 block of Silver Lilly Lane. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
