Roll out the red carpet and practice your curtsy, the return date for The Crown has finally been confirmed.
The fifth season of the period drama will arrive on Netflix on Wednesday, November 9.
As is now tradition with The Crown, an all-new cast will take over the royal roles for the next two seasons, with Imelda Staunton taking over from Olivia Colman as the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Tenet’s Elizabeth Debicki replaces Emma Corrin as Diana, while Dominic West will provide a burlier Prince Charles than Josh O’Connor’s version. And West’s 13-year-old-son, Senan West, is keeping it in the family as a young Prince William.
As the show moves into the 1990s, expect to see the fallout of Charles and Diana’s marriage and the arrival of Tony Blair in the political arena.
There was speculation that the death of the Queen might impact the timing for The Crown’s new season, especially with season five covering the thorny terrain of King Charles’s troubled relationship with Diana, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
There’s been a resurgence in popularity for the drama since the Queen’s death. Streaming figures went up by 800 percent between September 9-11 in the UK, compared with the previous weekend’s figures, according to analysis by US tech company Whip Media.
In America, viewing of The Crown quadrupled over the same period, while in France there were three times as many viewers.
