The Garrett County Health Department’s Behavioral Health Department is seeking a full time or part time Licensed Therapist to work as an independent consultant. The main purpose of this position is to provide diagnostic services, individual, couple, family and group therapy services at any of the approved office locations. Applicants must possess a current license as an LCSW-C or LCPC from the state of Maryland and must obtain liability insurance prior to start date. Board Certified Psychiatrist OR Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

The Garrett County Health Department’s Behavioral Health Clinic, an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, located in Garrett County, Maryland, is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of Maryland to serve as the Medical Director a minimum of 20 hours per week on a contractual basis. Providing psychiatric services including psychiatric evaluations, prescribing appropriate medication and providing medication management, supportive and ongoing therapy for clients. On site provision of psychiatric services is preferred however, telemedicine visits/remote work will be considered. Garrett County Behavioral Health has 18 full and part time licensed clinicians, a Community Health Nurse as well as clerical and administrative support staff.

Preferences:

2-4 years’ experience working in a community mental health setting. Buprenorphine waiver and certification in the modified Clozapine REMS to prescribe or dispense clozapine.

Garrett County Health Department is a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) approved site for Nurse Corps, NHSC and STAR loan repayment programs.

There is flexibility in scheduling , normal operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
