Cordarrelle Patterson ran for 141 yards and a touchdown Sunday as the lead running back of the Atlanta Falcons in the team's win over Seattle. What he's accomplished in the past season-plus for the Falcons has been quite a revelation.
Atlanta Falcons analyst Dave Archer has been impressed with Patterson and also compliments the coaching staff for getting the most out of him.
"You had to find out how you're going to use him, he was drafted as a receiver, been a good kick returner, but Minnesota couldn't find out a way to package him," explains Archer. "Arthur Smith has realized, you talk about a guy like Deebo Samuel, this might be that on steroids.
"He's not a true running back, most receivers don't have the mentality to run the football between the tackles. He's truly made the transition to being a roughneck running back."
Patterson is currently second in the league in rushing with 302 yards. The Falcons welcome in the NFL's leading rusher, Nick Chubb, to Atlanta as the Browns visit in Week 4.
